Located in the picturesque heart of Hindhead, Surrey, Moorhouse Care Home is a charming country house that provides top-quality dementia and residential care to up to 36 elderly men and women. Our home focuses on delivering exceptional standards of personalised care and ensuring residents and their families feel supported and respected.

The Role

We are looking for a passionate and reliable Cook / Second Chef to support our catering team in delivering freshly prepared, nutritious, and appetising meals for our residents. You will assist the Head Chef in menu planning, food preparation, and maintaining the highest standards of kitchen hygiene.

Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare and serve balanced, high-quality meals in line with residents' dietary needs and preferences.

• Support the Head Chef in menu planning, stock control, and ordering supplies.

• Ensure compliance with food hygiene, safety, and HACCP standards.

• Assist in supervising and training kitchen staff as needed.

• Maintain a clean, safe, and organised kitchen environment at all times.

• Adapt meals for residents with modified or specialist diets.

• Contribute to a positive dining experience that promotes residents' wellbeing.

Skills & Experience:

• Previous experience in a professional kitchen, ideally within a care or hospitality environment.

• Knowledge of dietary needs and nutritional requirements for older adults.

• Food Hygiene certificate (Level 2 or above).

• Ability to work well under pressure and as part of a small team.

• Passion for creating delicious, comforting food that residents enjoy.

This role is subject to a satisfactory Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check.

34.5 hours per week, worked over 3 days: Wednesday, Thursday and Friday.
