Residents and staff at Moorhouse Care Home recently received a personal reply from His Majesty The King, sent from Buckingham Palace.
The reply, from James Dawson, Head of Royal Correspondence, read in part:
"The King has asked me to thank you for your splendid handmade cards... His Majesty was immensely heartened by your generous thought for Members of The Royal Family, and greatly appreciates the care with which you created your cards."
When the letter arrived, staff said residents were delighted, and many told us how special it felt to have their card read and acknowledged.

Moments like this reflect what matters at Moorhouse: connection, community and celebrating the things that bring joy to residents and their families.
Julie Watts, Home Manager at Moorhouse, said:
"It's moments like these that remind us why community matters so much in care. Watching our residents' faces as that letter was read out is something I won't forget."
Encouraged by the response, residents have since sent a birthday card to The Prince of Wales, continuing what has become a regular royal correspondence.
The team at Moorhouse said the King's reply was a reminder of the importance of helping residents feel valued not just within the home, but as part of the wider world.
We'd like to thank His Majesty The King for taking the time to reply. It meant a great deal to everyone at Moorhouse, and we look forward to seeing what comes next from the home's royal correspondents.
