Celebrating Community Spirit: Hereford Welsh Club Raises Funds for Holmer Court and More

On Saturday 7th of June 2025, we had the pleasure of attending an unforgettable evening at The Hereford Welsh Club, where we were overwhelmed by the generosity and support of their members. Over the past year, the club’s committee members, staff, and members have been incredibly busy raising money for charities all around Hereford.

Their efforts included everything from bake sales to an impressive ten-hour dance-a-thon! Thanks to their dedication, they were able to raise:

We were especially touched to learn that one of their dedicated members, Mandy, is the granddaughter of a former resident here at Holmer Court. Mandy kindly put our home forward to receive a share of the funds raised, a truly heart-warming gesture that shows just how special the bonds are that we create here.

Mandy shared her own gratitude, saying:

“You’re very welcome. Your home was very good to my Nan, and also the support you gave me as well will never be forgotten.”

Their efforts were nothing short of amazing, and at the event, we were presented with a cheque for a staggering £1,600 to go directly to our Resident Fund. This incredible donation will make such a difference, helping us create even more special moments and experiences for our residents.

We were truly blown away by their generosity, and it was wonderful to spend the evening celebrating their hard work and dedication. Even better, they’ve agreed to visit us at Holmer Court soon for a sing and dance with our residents, giving everyone the chance to thank them personally for their kindness.

Our Wellbeing Lead, Becky Webber, said:

“It was such a fantastic evening. We’re so grateful for the club’s generosity and can’t wait to welcome them to Holmer Court. Their support means we can do even more for our residents, making their lives brighter and more fulfilling.”

“It’s heart-warming to see the community come together like this. The Hereford Welsh Club have shown such incredible spirit and dedication, and we’re beyond thankful for everything they’ve done for us and our residents.”
