John joins Ashberry as Estates Manager, bringing extensive experience across healthcare, charitable organisations, local authorities and the retail sector. With a background in building surveying, he is passionate about creating safe, comfortable, home-from-home environments that prioritise residents' lived experiences over a corporate feel. John is focused on developing a consistent estates strategy across all Ashberry homes as the group continues to grow.
In his role as Estates Manager, John works closely with Claire Fry, our Operations Director, on operational matters, and closely with our maintenance teams to ensure our homes remain compliant and continue to meet the highest standards. He also supports Nigel and Gary on development projects across our homes.
Sustainability is a particular focus for John, who has been embedding environmentally conscious practices across the estate - from expanding EV charging and exploring water harvesting to more efficient heating systems and automatic lighting control. In Ashberry's older, more characterful homes, he takes pride in balancing historic charm with modern, efficient upkeep, as part of the group's wider commitment to Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) good practice.
We are delighted to welcome John to the Ashberry team, and are confident he will make a valuable contribution to the continued excellence of our homes.
Outside of work, John enjoys exploring the Forest of Dean with his cockapoo, Freddie, and spending time with his three children.
