Meadowview's Summer Lovin Fair raises £760 for residents

We had chills, and they were definitely multiplying at Meadowview’s Summer Fair – and it’s safe to say we all had a blast! Themed "Summer Lovin’", the day was packed with Grease-inspired fun, laughter, and fundraising – all in support of our residents’ fund.

Our garden was transformed into a retro 1950s paradise, with guests and staff dressing the part in classic Grease-style outfits. Think pink ladies, leather jackets, polka dots, and victory rolls galore! The vibe was fun, friendly and full of nostalgia.

Stalls galore! Visitors browsed a wonderful variety of stalls, including beautiful flowers from Doe Green Farm (grown right here in Penketh!), books, handmade jewellery, and even a skincare and make-up station. Sarah from Story Sense brought her magical storytelling touch, delighting visitors of all ages.

Our much-loved ‘Laughing Cow’ pub – first opened during a previous event – returned by popular demand, serving refreshing pub-style drinks and a tempting spread of delicious cakes and bakes. There was something for everyone to nibble, sip and savour!

Live entertainment with renditions of Grease classics had us all singing and dancing along. From "You're the One That I Want" to "Hopelessly Devoted to You," it was pure joy!

Our raffle was a huge hit, with some truly amazing prizes generously donated by local businesses and friends of Meadowview. The excitement and generosity on the day helped us raise a whopping £760 in total for our residents’ fund – every penny of which will go towards creating more memorable moments and meaningful experiences for those who live at Meadowview.

Chris Wilcock, Manager at Meadowview, shared:

"It was absolutely wonderful to see the community come together to support such a fun and meaningful day. The atmosphere was buzzing from start to finish. I'm incredibly proud of the team – especially Tracy – for putting together such a fantastic event."

And a huge shout-out must go to Tracy, our Wellbeing Lead, organised the event.

“I wanted to create something special that brought joy to everyone – residents, families, staff and the wider community,” said Tracy. “Seeing the smiles and laughter throughout the day made all the planning so worth it!”
