Meadowview Receives Heartfelt Donation in Memory of Beloved Resident

A Lasting Tribute to a Much-Loved Resident at Meadowview Care Home

The team and residents at Meadowview Care Home have been deeply touched by a generous donation made in memory of Ronald Ravencroft, a much-loved resident who left a lasting impression on everyone who knew him.

Ron was known throughout the home as a gentle soul with a warm smile and a cheerful spirit. His kindness and positivity brightened the days of both residents and staff, and he quickly became a treasured member of the Meadowview community.

Ron’s wife, Marie, and daughter, Helen, recently visited the home to personally present the donation. Reflecting on their visit, Helen shared:

"Thank you for the care Dad received, and for including him in all the activities. Attending his funeral and seeing how much he was loved by everyone at Meadowview meant so much to us. We would love to stay in touch."

The donation will be used to purchase a remembrance bench in Ron’s honour and to help enhance the home’s outdoor gardens. These improvements will create a peaceful space where residents can relax, enjoy the fresh air and spend time together in the beautiful surroundings.

During his time at Meadowview, Ron embraced life in the home and enjoyed taking part in many activities. He had a particular love for art and regularly joined the home’s Lego therapy sessions. He was also a familiar and enthusiastic face at karaoke. Ron was often the first to take the microphone, encouraging others to join in and helping create joyful moments that residents and staff will always remember.

Fellow resident Brenda Wood joined Ron’s family when the donation was presented and shared her own memories:
