At Ashberry Healthcare, we believe that life in our homes should feel connected, purposeful and rooted in the communities around us. This year, we are proud to be building closer relationships with local charities linked to each of our homes, through a new initiative that focuses on meaningful partnerships rather than one‑off fundraising efforts.
Each charity has been chosen with care, reflecting what matters most to our residents and our teams. These partnerships are about creating shared experiences, welcoming new faces into our homes and strengthening that feeling of belonging beyond our own walls. They also give us the opportunity to support causes that are valued locally and to build genuine, lasting relationships within our communities.
This initiative is not about how much money we raise, but about the positive difference it makes in everyday life. By encouraging engagement, wellbeing and meaningful activities, we hope to help residents feel more involved and connected, whether that’s through visits, volunteering opportunities, shared activities or community events. Our aim is for these partnerships to become a natural and valued part of daily life in each home throughout the year.

Allt Y Mynydd Nursing Home
- Herd on the Hill Sanctuary
Allt Y Mynydd is delighted to be partnering with Herd on the Hill Sanctuary. This partnership will give our residents the opportunity to visit the sanctuary throughout the year, spending time with the animals and enjoying the benefits of being out in nature.
These visits offer enrichment, enjoyment and wellbeing benefits for residents, while also helping to raise awareness of the wonderful work carried out by the sanctuary. We are very much looking forward to developing this mutually beneficial relationship and strengthening our local community connections.

Blaenos House Nursing Home
- Llandovery Rotary Club
Located in the heart of Llandovery, Blaenos House has chosen to support the Llandovery Rotary Club as its Charity of the Year for 2026. The Rotary Club is a long‑standing, volunteer‑led organisation dedicated to supporting good causes locally, nationally and internationally.
Their work includes supporting both younger and older people in the community, as well as contributing to wider charitable initiatives. In recent years, the club has donated tens of thousands of pounds to projects across the region. We look forward to fundraising, raising awareness and supporting the Rotary Club’s ongoing community work throughout the year.

Broomy Hill Nursing Home
- Herefordshire Mind
Broomy Hill has chosen Herefordshire Mind as its Charity of the Year for 2026. Herefordshire Mind has been supporting people across the county since 1978, offering residential and community‑based mental health support to adults facing a wide range of challenges. Their work is rooted in the belief that no one should have to face a mental health problem alone.
As part of this partnership, we are delighted to be enrolling some of our residents in Herefordshire Mind’s Art Space group, providing opportunities for creativity, self‑expression and connection. We have also nominated our administrator, Steph, to become a Mind Ambassador, helping to promote mental health awareness within the home. Throughout the year, we will be fundraising, raising awareness and finding meaningful ways to support the vital work they do.

Holmer Court Care Home
- Royal British Legion
Holmer Court will be supporting the Royal British Legion, a charity that holds strong significance for many of our residents. With a proud history of supporting serving and former members of the Armed Forces and their families, the British Legion carries out vital work to ensure those who have served are not forgotten.
This partnership offers meaningful opportunities to honour shared histories, mark important moments of remembrance and support a cause that resonates deeply within our home. Throughout the year, Holmer Court will be raising awareness and finding thoughtful ways to support the charity and the values it represents.

Meadowview Care Home
- Still Me Warrington Dementia Project
Meadowview are proud to support Still Me Warrington Dementia Project, part of Warrington Speak Up. Still Me plays a vital role in supporting people living with dementia and amplifying their voice within the Warrington community through meaningful, person‑centred work.
This partnership reflects our commitment to ensuring people living with dementia feel heard, valued and supported. We are excited to work closely together throughout the year and continue supporting our Warrington community.

The Weir Nursing Home
- We Are Farming Minds
Surrounded by the Herefordshire countryside, The Weir has chosen We Are Farming Minds as its Charity of the Year for 2026. Many of our residents have strong personal connections to farming, making this partnership especially close to home.
The charity provides essential mental health support to the farming community, including a 24‑hour support line, funded counselling, awareness workshops and community events aimed at reducing isolation and stigma. Over the coming year, we will be supporting the charity through fundraising, awareness‑raising and community engagement, and we are incredibly proud to stand alongside such an important organisation.

Looking Ahead
We are excited to see these partnerships grow over the coming months and to share the positive impact they bring to our residents, our teams and the wider communities we are part of.
We look forward to sharing updates as these relationships develop and celebrating the shared experiences they create across our homes.
