Ashberry Healthcare expands portfolio with acquisition of Brockworth House Nursing Home
Ashberry Healthcare is delighted to announce the successful acquisition of Brockworth House Nursing Home in Gloucester, Gloucestershire, from Methodist Homes (MHA). This marks another exciting step in our strategic growth journey, following the successful acquisitions of Engelberg Care Home in Wolverhampton (2024) and The Weir Nursing Home in Hereford (2025).
Situated within its own landscaped grounds, just five miles from Cheltenham, Brockworth House Nursing Home offers residential and nursing care for up to 52 residents. The home has been rated ‘Good’ by the Care Quality Commission (CQC), a testament to the dedication and professionalism of its experienced care team.
All existing staff will transfer to Ashberry Healthcare via TUPE, ensuring continuity of care and support for residents and families as we begin this new chapter together.
This is the second home Ashberry Healthcare has acquired from MHA, following Engelberg Care Home. We value the strong alignment between our organisations, with both Ashberry and MHA sharing a commitment to care delivered with compassion, dignity, and respect. These shared values provide a seamless foundation for Brockworth House’s future under Ashberry Healthcare’s ownership.
With this acquisition, Ashberry Healthcare’s portfolio now spans Herefordshire, Surrey, Cheshire, Carmarthenshire, Wolverhampton, and Gloucester, strengthening our position as a trusted provider of high-quality, community-focused care across the UK.
Nigel Denny, Chief Executive of Ashberry Healthcare, said:
“Today marks an exciting step forward as we welcome Brockworth House into the Ashberry family. The home and its team have an excellent reputation, founded on strong relationships with residents, families, and the local community.
Our vision is to build on this reputation through our community-centred care model, offering something distinct for those seeking fellowship, empowerment, and independence in later life.”
Gary Cottrell, Chief Financial Officer, added:
“This acquisition represents another important milestone in our growth journey. We are committed to investing in Brockworth House and its services to ensure residents and the wider community continue to receive exceptional, personalised care.”
MHA Chief Executive, Sam Monaghan, commented:
“We are delighted that Brockworth House will pass into the hands of Ashberry Healthcare, where we know both residents and staff will be well supported for the future.”
We extend our warmest welcome to everyone connected with Brockworth House Nursing Home and look forward to building upon its strong reputation and community ties.
This acquisition reflects Ashberry Healthcare’s ongoing mission to deliver compassionate, community-centric care and create environments where individuals can live with dignity, independence, and joy.
