On Thursday 26th September, we had the absolute pleasure of welcoming the founders of The Beefy Boys to Holmer Court Care Home in Hereford.
Founded in Hereford in 2011, The Beefy Boys have grown from a small street food team into an award-winning burger restaurant, now with sites in Hereford, Shrewsbury and Cheltenham. Loved locally and recognised nationally, they’re a true Herefordshire success story.
Earlier in the summer, just before our much-anticipated fete, our trusty BBQ had to be condemned. For our residents, the annual BBQ is always a highlight- a chance to enjoy good food, sunshine and community spirit. Without a grill, we faced the possibility of losing this special tradition.
That’s when something amazing happened. Richard, our wonderful maintenance man, reached out to a friend for help. Instead of simply lending us a BBQ, The Beefy Boys went above and beyond. They contacted their supplier, Weber Grills, who generously donated a brand-new BBQ to our home - just in time for our Summer Fete. To top it off, they also provided some fantastic merchandise for the Fete, making the day even more special.

On their visit, we had the joy of saying thank you. Our residents created a beautiful handmade card, and we presented The Beefy Boys with a hamper filled with local produce - a small gesture of appreciation for such a big act of kindness.

“The generosity shown by The Beefy Boys and Weber has been incredible,” said Claire Boulter, Home Manager at Holmer Court. “Our summer BBQ is something the residents always look forward to, and their support meant we could keep that tradition alive.”
“It was wonderful to welcome The Beefy Boys in person so our residents could say thank you. The smiles on everyone’s faces said it all- this gift will bring joy for years to come.”
We’ve already put our new BBQ to good use, and we’re looking forward to many more celebrations, meals and happy memories around it.

A huge thank you to The Beefy Boys and Weber Grills for their generosity and support. Your kindness has made a lasting difference to our residents, and we are so grateful for the time you took to visit us.
