Shaun’s professional journey began with a two-year culinary training at college, where a placement supporting young adults with learning disabilities ignited his passion for social care. After briefly working in hospitality, he transitioned to the care sector as a Bank Support Worker for a local charity, supporting individuals to live independently across community homes in Bath.
A defining chapter followed at the RNID, where Shaun worked with people who are Deaf or living with hearing loss, including those on the autistic spectrum. He became fluent in British Sign Language (BSL) and advanced from Senior Support Worker to Deputy Manager. Equipped with a Level 5 qualification, Shaun served as Registered Manager for three services over 12 years, pioneering the country’s first registered supported-living scheme prior to modern CQC regulations.
Shaun joined Ashberry Healthcare as an interim contractor at Broomy Hill in Hereford, subsequently assuming the role of Quality & Compliance Manager before being appointed Director of Care.
